The Labour party has repeated its pledge to open 350 “banking hubs” across Britain in the next five years as part of efforts to revive face-to-face services on the high street.
These hubs, which will provide in-person banking services, including access to cash withdrawals and advice and support, will be funded by ‘the major banks’, Labour said, and will be run by Cash Access UK and the Post Office.
“After 14 years of the Tories, many of our high streets have been reduced to ghost towns,” said Rachel Reeves, shadow chancellor.
“This election is a chance to vote for change to end the chaos and decline and make our high streets better off.”
